LOVELESS CAFE

PIMENTO CHEESE & FRIED GREEN TOMATO BISCUIT

My father-in-law will LOVE this post since I refused to go to the Loveless Cafe for YEARS.  Tommy and I make a big breakfast every weekend, and I was certain no overpriced, touristy joint could compete... until I ordered the biscuit sampler and tried the peach jam... Now I'm a believer.

SONGWRITERS NIGHTS

I'm not sure how charities and schools raise funds outside the 615, but in Nashville, we raise funds via Songwriter's Nights.

There are two steps to starting a charitable organization in Nashville:
1.  File for 501(c) status
2.  Organize the lineup for your Songwriter's Night fundraising event.

THE WILDHORSE SALOON

In May 1996, Tommy & I had just finished college, and we got married shortly thereafter in July... We paid for the wedding ourselves, so bar hopping downtown Nashville was basically our wedding reception...we like to think of it as the most EPIC thrift ever.

This weekend, the kids took me back to the Wild Horse Saloon for dinner and line dancing.  I have video but the mother- preteen-son by laws prohibit me from posting it.  It was tons of fun and a sort of bucket list item for me to take the kids dancing there... I did feel slightly underdressed there without my wedding gown :).

Our WHS selfie...

While downtown, Drew wanted a pic in front of his favorite building.

THE HILLS OF TENNESSEE

It's a beautiful day to be outside at a football combine surrounded by the Tennessee hills!

Playmakers Academy- huddled up

Our house in Brentwood is nestled among beautiful, rolling hills. I never dreamed that I could live so close to the city AND be in a place as beautiful as Belvidere, where I grew up.  Our Swiss- German ancestors settled in Belvidere in the mid 1800s because its hills reminded them of home, and I chose Brentwood because its hills reminded me of Belvidere.  I know I'll thirst for these Tennessee hills when we move westward.

MERE BULLES SHE CRAB SOUP

Tommy literally ate she crab soup everyday on our honeymoon in Charleston 18 years ago.  We love having an incredible version so close to us- I have biked over to Mere Bulles many times just for a bowl of soup!

Mere Bulles is the standard for business lunches in Maryland Farms where Tommy & I have both worked for years.  It's
one of the places that we could walk into 10 years from now and see familiar faces.

I also suggest ending your meal with the best carrot cake in the Nashville area.
